Volunteer Opportunities

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Toberman Neighborhood Center. Your support helps us serve the community and we could not do our work without you!

Toberman Academy After School Program (Virtual until further notice):
Volunteers are needed to provide academic support during our after-school program for kids ages kindergarten through 8 grade. 

Enrichment Activities (Virtual until further notice):
We offer enrichment activities that are fun and engaging for our kids. Activities such as, ballet classes, karate classes, zumba for kids, creative science classes, knitting class, make a movie class, photography class, painting class, music class, and board games are examples of enrichment activities.

Grab & Go Meal Program:
Beginning in March 2020, Toberman offers 200 meals a day to the community during our Grab & Go meal program. Volunteers are needed to help pass out the meals.

Thrift Store:
Volunteers are needed to sort donations. We are not currently accepting volunteers for this program to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Food Pantry:
Volunteers are needed to assist in the food pantry to sort and/or pack meals during scheduled open hours. We are not currently accepting volunteers for this program to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Events:
Volunteers are needed to set up, breakdown, greet, serve, register, and serve as live auction runners and live auction spotters.

Administrative:
Volunteers are needed to assist with administrative tasks as needed.

Requirements:
Volunteers who would like to serve on a continuous basis will be required to fill out paperwork, provide negative TB test results and live scan fingerprinting. TB test not required for high school student volunteers enrolled in LA Unified Schools.
